Yiriz Prato
PT, DPT
Yiriz is a dedicated physical therapist with 21 years of experience specializing in neurological rehabilitation and wellness. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica University in New York. Over nearly two decades, Yiriz has developed a deep expertise in managing complex neurological conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and Parkinson’s disease. Her approach combines evidence-based techniques with a compassionate touch, ensuring each patient receives comprehensive, individualized care.
Yiriz’s experience extends to functional training for individuals with lower limb amputations, guiding them through rehabilitative strategies to enhance mobility and independence. She also has expertise in post-COVID recovery programs and balance and fall prevention, helping patients improve their stability and reduce injury risks. In addition, Yiriz is a Certified Clinical Instructor who actively mentors Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students during their clinical rotations, sharing her insights and experience to support the next generation of therapists.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Yiriz values quality time with her family. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Luis, and their daughters, as well as hiking, reading, and exploring music. A lover of travel, Yiriz appreciates opportunities to experience new cultures and environments, believing that these experiences contribute to a well-rounded perspective in both her personal and professional life.

Luis F Prato
PT, DPT
Dr. Luis has been a dedicated physical therapist for 29 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia in 1995 and was honored as a “Distinguished Alumni” in 2019. Dr. Luis completed his Doctorate in Musculoskeletal Management at Evidence in Motion Institutes of Health Professions.
With numerous certifications, Dr. Luis stands as one of the few board-certified specialists in Northwest Indiana. His certifications include:
- American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties: Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Sports Clinical Specialist
- American Physical Therapy Association: Certified Clinical Instructor
- International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy: Registered International Sports Physical Therapist
- National Strength and Conditioning Association: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Dr. Prato is an active member of the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy, the American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapists, the American Physical Therapy Association, the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His lifelong commitment to professional development includes mentoring DPT students as a clinical instructor and providing continued education in Spain through ECUFIS. He also serves on the editorial board of Sports Medicine – Open Journal.
Known in Northwest Indiana as “Coach Prato,” Dr. Luis has coached youth soccer with a USSF National Youth License and continues to support the local soccer community by offering injury prevention and speed agility programs. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Yiriz and daughters.
Gloria Arteaga
PT, DPT
With over 32 years of experience in physical therapy, Gloria brings extensive knowledge in treating both orthopedic and neurological conditions. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Universidad del Rosario in Colombia in 1991, later completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Utica University in New York. Known for her compassionate approach and technical skill, Gloria is certified in MDT (Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment), allowing her to provide advanced care for spine and extremity conditions. Her expertise covers a range of conditions, including back pain, joint issues, and complex neurologic diagnoses.
Throughout her career, Gloria has maintained a strong commitment to lifelong learning and skill enhancement. She continues to broaden her knowledge in evidence-based treatments, which she integrates into her practice to provide patients with the most effective care possible. Gloria’s emphasis on personalized treatment planning ensures that each patient receives care tailored to their specific needs and health goals, contributing to her reputation as a trusted and sought-after physical therapist.
Beyond her clinical work, Gloria is dedicated to educating future healthcare professionals. She is an adjunct professor at Indiana University Northwest School of Medicine, where her knowledge and dedication to the field inspire her students.
